It was inspired by the layout and design of cities in RPGs such as Witcher 3 & MMOs like Throne & Liberty

THE LEVEL WAS BUILT AROUND THE CONCEPT OF SEMI-GUIDED EXPLORATION, HAVING THE PLAYER BE GUIDED DOWN A SINGULAR PATH BUT BUT PROVIDE THEM WITH OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE & LATER RETURN THROUGH ALTERNATE ROUTES AT A LATER DATE.
